Erika GARAMI dr.univ.

 

She graduated from Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest with a degree in history and English language and literature. She has worked in the Banknote and Coin Collection of the National Bank of Hungary, then in the Postal Museum for almost twenty years. She wrote her doctoral thesis on the banknote issue and legal case of Lajos Kossuth in London in 1860–1861. Her field of research is numismatics and monetary history in modern times. She received the Réthy László Prize of the Hungarian Numismatic Society. Currently she works at the Budapest City Archives as senior archivist. 

Lajos JUHÁSZ PhD

He studied archaeology and scandinavian studies at ELTE Faculty of Humanities. It was also here he defended his PhD dissertation in 2015. He also conducted studies abroad at the universities of Freiburg, Rome and Vienna. His main research fields are ancient numismatics and iconography.

He is currently assistant professor at the Institute of Archaeological Sciences at ELTE and the curator of the university’s coin cabinet.

 

 

Márton KÁLNOKI-GYÖNGYÖSSY DSc

 

He graduated from History and Archaeology, Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary (1997); Law and Political Sciences, Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Budapest, Hungary (2002).

He has PhD degree in Archaeology/History at the Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, with a dissertation on the monetary reform of King Matthias Corvinus and its continuation until 1521 (2002), and in Public Administration Sciences at the National University of Public Service, Budapest, with a dissertation on the Hungarian Museums and Legislation (1777–2010) (2019). He is a Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (2017) with a dissertation on the coinage and coin circulation in Western Hungary (1387–1608).

He served as Deputy Sectertary of State for Culture (2010–2011), he is currently an Associate Professor at the Eötvös Loránd University, Institute of History, Department of Auxiliary Sciences of History.

He was awarded for his numismatic scientific work the Unger Emil Medal from the Hungarian Numismatic Collectors Society (2020).

 

István Kenyeres PhD

 

Director General of the Budapest City Archives.

Research interests include the economic and urban history of the Kingdom of Hungary and the Habsburg Monarchy in the 15th and 18th centuries, and the history of Budapest. He has published one monograph, 4 edited volumes, more than 80 studies in Hungarian, English and German.
